Weddings & Vow Renewals

Can we have our ceremony at any location?

Yes, for weddings, the legal paperwork will need to be completed at a Register Office first, but there is no restriction whatsoever. You can choose wherever you prefer but always remember you need to have the landowner's permission.

Are there any restrictions on timescale for a ceremony?

No, however you would not want a ceremony to last longer than 45 mins - an hour, as your guests may get fidgety (especially children)

Can I include members of my family in the ceremony?

Yes, absolutely! We can write roles into the script. You can also include pets (as long as the venue allows)

Will you help us write our vows?

You can write your own or I can do it for you. Let me know what sort of things you would like to say and I can compose it.

Naming Ceremony

Can we have our ceremony at home?

Yes, of course. As long as you have the room or have a covered area in the garden, that's fine!

Can the ceremony be written for all of my children?

Yes this is possible but we would need to be mindful of timings and to ensure that each child is included sufficiently.

Can I include other members of my family in the ceremony?

Yes, absolutely! We can write roles into the script. You can also include pets (as long as the venue allows). You could even assign Fairy Godmother/father duties!

Is this type of ceremony just for children?

No, there are many different situations where someone could be celebrating their name. Babies, older children, teenagers, blended family members, adopted children, name changes after commitment ceremonies, gender transition, divorce. Depending on the situation and age, will depend on what you would like to include in your script.

Celebration of Life, Memorial, Funeral

Do we have to arrange your services through a Funeral Director?

Not necessarily, you can confirm with your Funeral Director that you have assigned me to write your ceremony. I will then work with them and the crematorium/cemetery to co-ordinate what is required.

Can I arrange to write a script for my funeral whilst I am still alive?

Yes of course. I am happy to work with you to design what you would like. Some people like to do this to save their family from such a difficult task. It also means that you can create your very own grand exit, with everything as you wish.

I'm not particularly religious but can I add a hymn?

Yes, absolutely! I do not deliver religious ceremonies but I can include religious elements, i.e. readings, hymns, if they are appropriate.

If I want a 'simple cremation', do I have to have a ceremony at a crematorium?

No, you can choose to have your memorial at a different venue. It is becoming popular to have a ceremony at a venue away from a crematorium or burial ground, more like a 'going away party' rather than a funeral.
